We get questions every day from customers about what goes into producing sequential art: Comic books, graphic novels and the like. We decided the best way to answer those questions is to show them with a dedicated space in our store for artists to work on their projects.

Our artist-in-residence program is available in one-month blocks. Selected artists must be present and creating sequential art in some form (comics, storyboards, layouts, etc – physical or digital) on-site for a minimum of three scheduled visits per week totaling 10 hours or more. The artist will be available to set their own schedule within those parameters. Artwork created in-store must be family-friendly in both subject matter and dialogue. The artist is expected to answer customer questions in a polite and professional manner. Artist must be a current Savannah resident age 18+ and abide by our COVID-19 protocols.

Neighborhood Comics will provide a drafting table, adjustable chair, power outlets, a ton of natural light and a dedicated retail display to showcase the artist’s work. The artist will keep 100% of proceeds from their sold merchandise during the residency term. Access to the studio space will only be provided during store hours.

If this sounds interesting to you, we invite you to apply now. Good luck! If you have any questions, please contact us.
